In-School classes are funded predominantly by the School/College at which they are held (which means they may be FREE for pupils).

Our work is highly regarded by Activate Performing Arts, the dance and theatre development organisation for Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole, and we deliver workshops and weekly dance sessions on recommendation by the School Sports Partnerships and Arts in Education Agencies.

 

WORKSHOPS

Workshops can be run as a full day, a half day or split into 5 taster sessions throughout the day. Please contact us for further information about a potential workshop event at your school/college. Workshops are structured with the aim to empower and help build self confidence in individuals, regardless of whether or not they have had previous dance experience. The workshops are about inspiring energy and enthusiasm, working as part of a team, but also striving to create a sense of importance and belonging in each individual, within the context of the workshop. Pure Funk challenges both body and mind, promotes teamwork, teaches new skills and provides a feeling of achievement.

All Pure Funk teachers have Enhanced CRB checks, insurance of up to £10million, and variety of dance training and experience. We currently offer:

• Afterschool sessions
• PPA cover
• Full/Half day technique and choreography workshops
• Advanced dance sessions for Gifted and Talented
• Small group performance projects (over 6-10 week period)
• Primary Arts Workshop sessions (for teachers)
