Jane White
Jane White has been Head of Dance at Bournemouth and Poole College since 1997. She launched the locally and nationally recognised BTEC Dance course, as well as writing a Foundation Degree in Dance, which is now run at the college in partnership with and accredited by Bournemouth University. She originally trained at University College, Chichester, gaining a BA Honour degree in Dance, before studying for her Post Graduate Certificate in Education, at the University of Brighton.
Choreographically, Jane has built up a diverse portfolio of projects, which have seen her working as both a choreographer and director, as well as performer. She has been involved in numerous dance projects with a particular focus on boys dance.
Alongside a full and ever developing dance career, Jane is also a fully qualified and experienced Stott Pilates instructor, and teaches group classes, as well as training one-to-one clients.
Throughout her teaching career, Jane has developed a very individual style as a contemporary technique teacher, mainly based around the concepts of release technique, but including strength and power exercises, and a strong focus on core stability work.
