Jane White - Contemporary Dance / Release Technique Teacher
Jane White has been Head of Dance at Bournemouth and Poole College since 1997. She launched the locally and nationally recognised BTEC Dance course, as well as writing a Foundation Degree in Dance, which is now run at the college in partnership with and accredited by Bournemouth University. She originally trained at University College, Chichester, gaining a BA Honour degree in Dance, before studying for her Post Graduate Certificate in Education, at the University of Brighton.
Choreographically, Jane has built up a diverse portfolio of projects, which have seen her working as both a choreographer and director, as well as performer. She has been involved in numerous dance projects with a particular focus on boys dance.
Alongside a full and ever developing dance career, Jane is also a fully qualified and experienced Stott Pilates instructor, and teaches group classes, as well as training one-to-one clients.
Throughout her teaching career, Jane has developed a very individual style as a contemporary technique teacher, mainly based around the concepts of release technique, but including strength and power exercises, and a strong focus on core stability work.
