Amy Beveridge - Lead Choreographer & Artistic Director
Founder and Artistic Director of Pure Funk, Amy has had 18 years combined training and performance experience in ballet, modern/jazz, tap, street, and commercial dance. Her varied training and qualifications include Diploma in Child Psychology, Advanced Studies in Drama and Devised Theatre (Bretton Hall, Arts Faculty of Leeds University) and Arts Award Advisor training. Fully qualified and trained by Premiere International as an Exercise to Music professional, Amy is also an accredited ‘Urban Funk’ Instructor on the Register of Exercise Professionals.
Prior to setting up Pure Funk she delivered dance sessions at various schools, dance and theatre organisations and was the Drama and Dance Director for Parkstone Sports and Arts Centre for Young People for 3 years.
She is now highly respected and valued within the community dance network for the contribution Pure Funk has made – and is still making - to many much needed areas, through working closely with arts in education agencies, schools sports partnerships and local councils.
Through always being incredibly inspired by music and the commercial dance genre, Amy’s varied training in the industries of dance, arts, and fitness have resulted in a strong personal style that is evident in her choreography and class work. Her vision for Pure Funk continues to evolve and grow, but never falters in a keen desire to aid young dancers’ development.
