Affolake Lewis
From a very young age Aff saw dancing as a part of her life, and in her teens decided to turn her passion into her career.
After 2 years of dance studies at Jellicoe Theatre College, she went on to earn a BA (Hons) Degree in Dance at King Alfred’s College in Winchester where she studied for 3 years. Aff has been working in the professional field since leaving Winchester and still continues to teach a wide variety of young people and adults, based at youth groups, schools, and other arts organisations. She joined the Pure Funk teaching team back at its birth in 2005.
Aff is a hit with all those who like their street dance chilled and to an up to date groove! She creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere within her adult and teen classes, and her approachable open nature encourages the less confident participants to really grow.
“Hip Hop and Street are my favourite dance styles and I aim to reflect this always in my classes. I hope to inspire young people from all walks of life, through sharing my own love of dance, and remembering how I myself was inspired and continue to be!”
